While the Republican's can run on class warfare, social extremism, and patriotism

They don't have to work to develop ideas and programs that would help this country.

The don't have to explain how the erosion of our rights helps the country.

They don't have to explain why they turned our economy into the thing that is turning so many people out of thier homes.

They don't have to explain why they don't help the citizens most in need after a national disaster.

But you can stop it. You can tell them no.

A practical reason to want to change (parties in the Whitehouse)

I think it very likely that a wave of optimism regarding the war, the environment, the economy, the housing market, the financial stability, etc will happen (at least short term) in the event of a party transfer of power in the White house in 2008. Irrespective of where your political beliefs my lie, you can surely see how the country really could use such a bounce of optimism during this time.

For this reason alone, along with the fact that McCain picked a non global warming believer, creationist governor to be his running mate, is a good reason to hope that Obama
will become our next President. And Hope he does a good job.

First thoughts.

I'm excited to start my blogging careeer. This should be fun to read in a few years, I guess. In the meantime, I'll try not to bore anybody.

So who am I? Jerry. Software Engineer. (Cisco). Vegeterian. Fiscal Conservate, PeaceNic. Animal Lover, Enviromental concerned. Prius Owner. 2 kids (Andrea and Claire). So I very much dislike our current administration (Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfield). Very concerned that with all the stuff in the world, the election is still virtually tied. Scary.

Anyway, that's a kind of a top level. Books I've read lately: Jane Jacob's Decline and Fall of Great American Cities, Economy of Cities. Movies I've seen lately: Spiderman 2. Shrek 2, Finding Nemo (KIDS!).
